After my spinal herniation, protrusion, and frozen shoulder, I explored lots of ways to heal. I had MRIs, took painkillers, saw orthopedics, and tried traditional physical therapy before I found my teacher, Mark Albrecht. The corrective exercises he taught me finally treated the root cause of pain and helped me avoid spinal injections, surgery, and worse – pain that stopped me from living my life.
Mark taught me segmental and analytical strength training, myofascial stretching, and the eldoa method. I’m grateful to learn from Mark because he is one of sixteen active eldoa instructors in the world, according to The Legacy Institute in Dallas. Mark studied in the programs of Dr. Guy Voyer, the osteopath who invented eldoa.
In 2017 I earned my eldoa level 1 certification from Mark because I wanted to learn more about the mysterious method that helped me manage my back pain. I began teaching eldoa classes at Birdsong Bodywork & Pilates where Massage Therapists work with Fitness Instructors like me to ensure your body gets what it needs.
Teaching motivated me to complete my eldoa level 2 certification with Mark in August 2018. Today I teach 22 different eldoa poses – one for every articulation, or disc, in the spine. I’m one of a handful of active eldoa-certified practitioners in Austin today.
I want to share eldoa so that you can heal yourself, too.
